JOB SUMMARY: Administers patient treatments, supervises support personnel, and performs related duties such as participation in rounds, clinics, departmental performance improvement, and clinical education in accordance with state practice act, applicable regulations, and departmental policy and procedure. Demonstrates competence to adapt work and customer service assistance methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and other developmental needs of patients served by the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Specialized Training/Licensure:
Certificate of Physical Therapist Assistant from APTA accredited school; Current or eligible for Texas License
Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.

Work Experience (Years and Area): Four years minimum.

Equipment Operated: Competency in Physical Therapy Equipment

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contract), Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking), Writing /Composing Correspondence, Writing /Composing Reports

Bilingual Skills: Spanish, Vietnamese preferred

Other Requirements: Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association is preferred. Must demonstrate competency in age-specific and job-specific criteria.
