The role you’ll contribute:
Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for step down patients, post cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, peripheral studies/interventions and cardiac device implants, based on established clinical nursing practice standards as specified by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses Cardiac Recovery Registered Nurses. Care includes monitoring LOC and vital signs (NIBP, HR, O2 Sat, and Respirations) of patients recovering from moderate sedation. Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation and evaluation according to established protocols and evidence – based clinical practice standards. CRU and CSDU Registered nurses remove arterial and venous sheaths holding manual or mechanical pressure to ensure hemostasis. Post sheath pull patient arteriotomy sites are monitored for hematoma. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supports the organization vision and mission. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through the performance improvement techniques that demonstrates positive outcomes in patient care. Cardiac Recovery Registered Nurses require a high degree of knowledge in anatomy of the heart, circulatory, and neuro system in a critical care environment.

Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
EKG Competency
Knowledge of cardiac anatomy.
Knowledge of critical care medication.
Competency in Moderate Sedation.
Excellent assessment skills.
Able to learn and comprehend the hemodynamic monitoring software.
Able to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures.
Experience with Windows operating system.
Knowledge of the all anatomy including circulatory neuro systems.
Responsible to maintain all required registries and licenses to perform Registered Nursing duties.
Able to operate all equipment in post cardiac recovery unit
Assists in patient flow through the Invasive Cardiology areas to Cardiac Step Down Unit or discharge home
Assists in training new employees once becoming independent.
Performs properly and legibly documents and assessments in Cerner system in accordance with department policies
Associate Nursing and 0 years experience
Recent acute care experience.
Graduate of accredited school of Nursing.
Advanced Cardiac LIfe Support Cert
Basic Life Support - CPR Cert
