Position Information: The Patient Account Representative is responsible for making sure that all necessary actions are taken to ensure that the patient's administrative needs are accurately handled from point of entry into the rehab program through discharge from the program(s). Provides excellent customer service to include welcoming and greeting patients, staff, providers, and visitors, both in person and on the telephone. Optimizes patient and referral satisfaction and provider time by resourcefully scheduling appointments in person or by telephone. Completes and accurately collects data associated with the preregistration and registration of all rehab outpatients and inpatients. Performs administrative duties including: answering phones, greeting patients and visitors, referral management, managing and scheduling appointments, managing resource schedules, front office management, medical record management, obtaining pre-certifications and authorizations, verifying benefits, and point of service collections in a professional and timely manner. Ensures that the data collected allows for patient treatment to proceed without undue delay and conforms to regulatory compliance requirements. Provides administrative support to the clinical staff to ensure seamless department operations. Stays current with organizational and insurance industry changes including Medicare, Medicaid and managed care. Maintains contact with other departments and referral sources for insurance related changes in contracts, policies and procedures.
Experience Requirements: 1 Year Healthcare And Customer Service Required - And 1 Year Accounting/Finance - Third Party Payors Preferred
Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required - And Associate's Degree Business Administration Or Related Field Preferred

Hours of Work: hours between 7am-7pm Mon-Fri, every other Sat 8am-12pm when needed
