Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) seeks a Lead Occupational Therapist to join the Inpatient Rehabilitation Service at its main hospital in Manhattans Upper East Side Memorial Hospital. MSK offers the highest standard of comprehensive cancer care in a supportive environment designed to meet the unique needs of cancer patients and their families. Our Occupational Therapy team has the opportunity to help patients throughout all phases of treatment to regain their functional independence and cognitive abilities.

MSK is seeking to hire a licensed Lead Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our excellent team. Our dedicated team assists patients throughout their continuum of care focusing on improved quality of life, overall function and independent management as needed. Our outstanding Rehab team includes Physiatrists, OT, PT, PTA, Rehabilitation Assistants, and support team members. Our line of clinical care includes specialty areas in adult, pediatric, and lymphedema.

You Will:

• Provide clinical leadership to ensure daily operations for patient care function smoothly
• Facilitate resolution to patient/caregiver issues through timely and effective communication
• Partner with management to provide clinical orientation to new staff
• Foster clinical mentorship through co-treatments, clinical discussions, skills training, and in-servicing responsibilities
• Collaborate with management to perform process improvement projects within the inpatient OT Service line
• Advocate engagement to promote teamwork

You are:

• Highly skilled and creative when providing occupational therapy services to adult/pediatric patients using evidenced-based therapeutic interventions
• A skilled mentor proficient in various teaching strategies
• Dedicated to professional collaboration with multi-disciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient care is experienced
• Capable of finding resolutions, committed to nimble learning, and resilient in the current state of our healthcare environment

You have:

• New York State licensure as an Occupational Therapist required.
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Minimum of 4 years clinical practice as licensed OT required.
• Experience in an inpatient acute care setting required.
• Oncology, pediatrics, lymphedema clinical work experience (preferred)

Work shift varies between 7:30 am to 6 pm, Monday Sunday. A Saturday or Sunday is required in the permanent work schedule. Work days and hours subject to change.
