Location: 200 N Lakemont Ave, Winter Park, FL 32792
Unit Highlights:
Winter Park is pleased to have opened a brand-new 29-bed emergency department in June 2021, offering state-of-the-art technology in a comfortable healing environment. Within the new ED, we have continued to serve patients of all ages and now feature a dedicated pediatric waiting and 2 pediatric-friendly treatment rooms. In addition to the pediatric space, we have a dedicated trauma room, bariatric room, 2 Baker Act safe rooms, OB-GYN rooms, isolation rooms, and decontamination room, all designed for individualized and safe care of all patients. The collaborative design of the new emergency department, involving nursing and support staff, made attention to detail and ease of workflow a priority that can be readily seen and felt by all employees and patients.
As a support to our geriatric patients and ED nursing staff, we have a dedicated senior care coordinator who specializes in care of patients age 65 and older, collaborating with providers and nurses to ensure that proper care, consultation, referrals and community resources are provided to these patients. ED-based Pharmacists, Patient Financial Services Representatives and Care Managers also complement and support the ED staff.
Winter Park ED currently treats >30,000 patients annually and is certified as a Primary Stroke Center. We take pride in being a community hospital with a family feel and caring staff who are dedicated to serving the residents of Winter Park and surrounding areas.
Chartered in 1951, the hospital has grown from the visionary efforts of a handful of Winter Park residents and community leaders, to a 307-bed acute care facility that is a model of community health and wellness
Over the years the hospital has continually expanded to meet the needs of the community, adding an upscale obstetrics and Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at The Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place, cancer care at the AdventHealth Cancer Institute, Winter Park, and state-of-the-art surgery, recovery and rehabilitation at the AdventHealth Orthopaedic Institute
