This position is located with the Surgical Service section within Nursing Services at the Washington, DC VAMC. The nurse accepted for this position must be a highly skilled individual who will be responsible for performing the duties of scrub and/or circulator for a patient population that includes, but is not limited to general surgery, GU, GI, EENT, vascular and orthopedic procedures. This nurse will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of surgical care from preparation of the patient and OR suite to assisting the surgeon during procedures. The RN chosen for the position must also be competent to deliver patient care and rotate through Same Day Surgery, Endoscopy, Recovery and the clinics. Rotation to other tours will be based on patient care needs. This RN will be clinically and administratively accountable to the Nurse Manager of Surgical Services. Work Schedule: Monday- Thursday 0800-1630, Friday 0730-1600, with stay late and on-call rotation after hours, weekends, and holidays Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
