Psych Associates and RNs report to a Nurse Manager
Unit has 17 beds
The unit team consists ofone attending psychiatrist and one attending psychiatric nurse practitioner;two case managers; one occupational therapist; RNs; psychiatric associates; and health unit coordinators.
Station 30 has a mix of many challenging patients including those who are anxious/depressed and are at risk for self-harm or suicide as well those who have thought disorders and struggle with managing their lives in the community. Staff works together as a team to care for patients and provide a safe environment for therapeutic improvement in managing their mental illness.
Responsibilities/Job Description
Position consists of, but not limited to: Assess, Plan, Implement and Evaluate nursing care to ensure quality patient care in accordance with the missions and philosophy of Fairview Behavioral Services. Behavioral experience preferred. Physical demands:Sitting, standing, walking, lifting-max 35lbs, push/pull-max. 35 lbs., balance, stooping/crouching, grasping, writing, finger dexterity/keyboarding, reaching, color vision, operate machinery, physical presence at work Mental Demands:Frequent people contact, irregular work schedule, supervisory skills, detailed work, frequent interruptions, decision making skills, concentration, ability to work independently, working on multiple tasks concurrently, frequent deadlines, organizational skills, ability to collaborate with others, express ideas orally, remember and apply information, understand/follow basic instruction.
Qualifications
Required: Current RN Licensure and BLS Certification.
Preferred: BSN, at least 1 year of nursing experience in behavioral health in the last 3 years.
