Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN is looking for RNs to join our Emergency Department. Fairview Lakes Medical Center provides award-winning care to the communities northeast of the Twin Cities. We are a Level IV trauma center, providing life-saving treatment to the seriously ill and injured 24 hours a day. Specialty services are available on-site in heart care, cancer care, childbirth, orthopedics, pediatrics and more.
Emergency Services:
24 beds: 3 teams; Team A - 8 rooms, Team B - 8 rooms and Team C - 7 rooms.
The trauma room stands alone, Team Nursing model
Multidisciplinary approach to all emergencies.
Care delivery team: Board Certified/Eligible ED physicians, RNs, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, Psych Associates, 4 patients per RN.
The scope of practice extends from a patients entry into the emergency room and continues from triage through discharge. Care is centered on patients and families experiencing acute or chronic, actual or potential physical or psychosocial problems. Unique to emergency nursing are processes that require resuscitation and/or stabilization.

Responsibilities/Job Description
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s) within the Emergency Department. The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedure and professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
Qualifications
Requirements for the position:
MN RN license in good standing
BLS at the time of hire
One year Emergency Department, Telemetry, pediatric or adult critical care experience
ACLS certification must be completed prior to end of orientation
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within12 months of hire.
Prefer experience:
ACLS certification at time of hire
Certification by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing as a CEN, and/or course in advanced trauma nursing (ATCN).
