Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
Job Summary
To assist with patient care and management under the responsibility and supervision of the surgeon. To perform diagnostic and therapeutic tasks to allow the physician to extend his/her services. Assists in gathering the data necessary in implementing the diagnosis and, thereby, the therapeutic plan of the surgeon.Ortho experience preferred.
Job Duties
A major role will be as patient advocate in the medical care system, serving as confidant, advisor, and liaison between patients and physicians. Reports directly to the surgeon for all patient-care-related functions.
Must have proven ability to work in a team environment
Demonstrated deep concern for the health and well-being of others.
Must be able to deal with patients in such a way as to instill confidence and ease of communication.
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
Position Details
GEISINGER COMMUNITY MEDICAL CENTER (GCMC): Scranton, Pa, is an acute care hospital licensed for 297 beds and houses the only Level II Trauma Center in Lackawanna County and Scranton's only neurosurgery program and adult in-patient behavioral health unity. It is also home to comprehensive cardiovascular and orthopaedic services, as well as a broad range of other surgical and radiological services.
