M Health Fairviews Ambulatory Surgery in Maple Grove is a Joint Commission certified facility that performs over 6,000 outpatient procedures/surgeries including cases such as; Orthopedics, GYN, Endoscopy, Plastics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Podiatry and Urology for pediatrics to adults.
We are seeking a RN to work in Perianesthesia . This position is 0.8 FTE, day shifts with variable start times, currently Monday-Friday shifts.
Position reports to Patient Care Manager.
4 OR rooms, 7 PACU bays, and 4 Endoscopy rooms.
Team includes; RNs, CRNAs, MDA, Surgical Techs and CNA.

The RN is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care of all assigned Perianesthesia patients. Coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate, while following policy, procedures and professional practice guidelines. The RN provides patient and family centered care using effective communication within the team, the family and patient.
RN Duties include but are not limited to:
Providing pre and post op phone calls, pre-op assessment and admission, assisting with procedures, administering conscious sedation.
Nursing care for adult and pediatric patients in altered states of consciousness, airway assessment and maintenance, medication administration and comfort management.
Knowledge of anesthetic agents, narcotic analgesics and cardiovascular drugs.
Ability to recognize and treat arrhythmia and respond to hemodynamic changes.
Ability to provide discharge instructions to patients and families of different cultures from pediatrics-adult.
MN RN licensure by start date.
2 year minimum experience as RN in a PACU and Perianesthesia unit, including experience with advanced airways and telemetry.
BLS for health care providers.
PALS- will need to complete within 6 months of hire if not certified.
