Accompanies ambulance driver on calls. Renders emergency first aid, such as bandaging and splinting, to injured or ill patients. Applies artificial respiration or administers oxygen, in cases of suffocation and asphyxiation. Administers antiseptic solution to prevent infection until patient can receive professional care. Starts and administers intravenous fluids. Assists in lifting patient onto wheeled cart or stretcher and into and out of ambulance. May aid physician during emergency situations.
Experience: 1-2 years. Education: High School Diploma and EMT-B or I certification required.
