Job Description: Nursing Director, Surgical Services Shriners Hospitals for Children is a one-of-a-kind international health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs. Children up to the age of 18 with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate are eligible for admission and receive all care in a family-centered environment - regardless of their ability to pay. Nursing Director, Surgical Services Full time opportunity. Provides direct supervision and general management with 24 hour responsibility for Surgical Services; although generally a Monday - Friday schedule. Responsibilities include the overall fiscal management, staffing, performance management and continuing education of the staff. Is accountable and responsible for promoting quality patient care services within surgery and the sterile processing departments. This role provides leadership in the area of clinical practice, education, administration, research and consultation. Qualifications Education: BSN from four-year college or university. Experience: One to two years related experience and/or training in a surgical environment. Prior nurse management experience required. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current professional nurses registration in State of Illinois. P.A.L.S. certification required. Certification as ONC (Orthopedic Nurse Certified), CNOR (Certified Nurse in the Operating Room), or RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assist) preferred. BLS certification.
